APPEAL FOR RECONSIDERATION OF GST ON HORSE RACING Respected Sir, I most respectfully submit this appeal regarding the imposition of 28% GST (since a few years) and the classification of horse racing under the gaming industry. This policy is severely impacting the livelihood of nearly five lakh people who are directly and indirectly dependent on the horse racing ecosystem in India—including breeders, trainers, jockeys, stable staff, workers, stud farms employees, farm supplying agriculture staff and their families. Horse racing in India is not merely a sport; it is a time-honoured tradition and a source of survival for lakhs of households. The present GST regime has placed the industry under extreme distress, threatening both its future and the sustenance of those who rely on it.
